NPSNM logoThe Native Plant Society of New Mexico (NPSNM) is a non-profit organization that strives to educate the public about native plants by promoting knowledge of plant identification, ecology, and uses; fostering plant conservation and the preservation of natural habitats; supporting botanical research; and encouraging the appropriate use of native plants to conserve water, land, and wildlife. We have approximately 800 members in 7 chapters located throughout New Mexico and El Paso, Texas. We are a 501(c)(3) organization, registered as a nonprofit in the state of New Mexico.

From Ponderosa to Prickly Pear · Exploring the Native Plants of New Mexico

The Native Plant Society is excited to announce a new curriculum Native Plant Curriculumfor native plants: From Ponderosa to Prickly Pear · Exploring the Native Plants of New Mexico.  This ecoregional curriculum, developed by the Southwest Program of the Institute for Applied Ecology, offers a complete study of native plants, and lessons encourage students to explore what is outside their door and to journey through the flora, ecology, landscape management, and cultural plant relationships unique to New Mexico and the Southwest.   Stay tuned for an instructional webinar that will be held for educators in spring/summer, 2017.  Download a PDF of the native plant curriculum here
