Albuquerque Field Trip: Oxbow Trail, Rio Grande Corridor

The Albuquerque Chapter is hosting a field trip on June 29 to the Oxbow Trail of the Rio Grande Corridor, led by Lenore Goodall. Meet 8:30 AM at the Pueblo Montaño Parking Area (one block east of Coors Blvd on the south side of Montaño). We’ll return at noon.

Hike of 2.8 mi. roundtrip walking along drain bank shaded by cottonwoods to an area to comb for flowers along the river bank. We could find Anemopsis californica, Desmanthus illinoensis, Sagittaria cuneata, and Zeltnera calycosa, as well as various rushes, sedges, and grasses.

Prepare for marshy conditions and bring insect repellent, snack, water, and sunscreen.
