An easy morning hike in a small sandy bottomed drainage, return along the Sidetrack Bike Trail which cuts thru the grassy shoulder of a small hill. Less than 2mi. about 120 ‘ elevation change. The spring foothill flowering plants in this area are usually dependable, plentiful and diverse. With luck, there should be enough to see and identify to keep us out for 3 or 4 hours. There’s not much shade but the temperature will probably be mild. Don’t forget water, hat and a small snack. Meet at 8:30 to carpool from Albuquerque meeting place “D” Far North Shopping Center at San Mateo and Academy. Park near Wienerschnitzel or meet Lenore at 9:00 at Homesteads Village Shopping Center parking lot where we may proceed to the Stripmine Trailhead.
