February 4: “Otero Mesa and the Importance of Public Lands Conservation” Shelby Bazan, a conservation organizer with New Mexico Wild, joined us at our Las Cruces conference and on the field trip to Otero Mesa in early October. Her presentation on Otero Mesa and beyond will open our eyes to this largest remaining, intact Chihuahuan Desert grassland and to the conservation efforts underway there and in support of our other public lands.
