Wednesday, May 5, 7 p.m. Meeting with Melanie Gisler: “Native Plant Community Projects Funded by NPSNM”

Melanie Gisler of The Institute for Applied Ecology, Santa Fe office, will convene a panel on three projects funded by grants from NPSNM in recent years. One was for penitentiary inmates to learn horticultural methods as they raised native plant starts for restoration use, described by Sara Digby. Another was to educate and assist young farmers, represented by Paul Ross, into the growing of native plants for restoration seed production. And the third was a project at Sandia High School to support teacher Jason Roback and the greenhouse there so that students could be involved with native plant production.

A Zoom link will be e-mailed to chapter members prior to the meeting. For more information, or to register for the meeting, contact Sara Keeney at skeeney [at] swcp.com.
