July 1, 2026.  Monthly meeting with presentation “The Genus Astragalus in Northern New Mexico” by Henk van der Werff, PhD.   6:00 PM

Henk became interested in the genus Astragalus (common name include milkvetches and locoweeds) while collecting plants in the Taos area during the past summers.  He will bring herbarium specimens of some of the more common species and describe size and distribution of the genus, its uses, and the species found in northern New Mexico.

Henk is Curator Emeritus and Deputy Director of Research Emeritus, Missouri Botanical Garden (St. Louis, MO).

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month (usually March through October) in the boardroom at the Kit Carson Electric Cooperative (118 Cruz Alta Rd), 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. All meetings are free and open to the public. Please join us and bring your friends!
