Weds., June 3: Albuquerque chapter meeting and presentation, “Native Seed for Restoration in Southwest Forests and Rangeland”, 7:00 PM

June 3 Meeting, 7:00 PM: “Native Seed for Restoration in Southwest Forests and Rangeland.” Mia Brann and Clay Meredith are ecologists with the Institute for Applied Ecology in Santa Fe who have given this talk to the staff of every national forest in our region. They explain the work of the Southwest Seed Partnership, developing ecologically appropriate seed sources. Following ground-disturbing fuels reduction treatments, seeding with native understory species can deter establishment of invasive plants, increase species diversity, and establish fuel breaks.

Location: UNM Continuing Education building, 1634 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, just north of Indian School, south of I-40.  Free and open to the public, with ample parking in front and behind the Continuing Education building.
