Environmental Department updating us on
New Mexico Wetlands Inventory. Shabana
oversees wetlands program implementation,
federal grant coordination, mapping and
classification, database development,
restoration projects, Wetlands Action Plan
development, permitting activities, statewide
monitoring initiatives, and stakeholder
engagement. In this role, she collaborates
with state and federal partners to strengthen
wetland protection frameworks and advance
data-driven decision-making.
6:30 pm – social half-hour with snacks & beverages
7:00 pm – In-person meeting (virtual presentation) in the classroom adjacent to the
NMSU Herbarium on the NMSU campus in the Biology Annex at 3080 Williams Street. Free
parking north and south of the Annex after 4:30 pm
