Albuquerque Field Trip: Oxbow Trail, Rio Grande Corridor CANCELLED due to flooding.

As of late June, the Rio Grande is still flooding its bosque in the Albuquerque area, forcing us to cancel the field trip on June 29. Hopefully, some time in the future we can look forward to an experience as described below:

Hike of 2.8 mi. roundtrip walking along drain bank shaded by cottonwoods to an area to comb for flowers along the river bank. We could find Anemopsis californica, Desmanthus illinoensis, Sagittaria cuneata, and Zeltnera calycosa, as well as various rushes, sedges, and grasses.

Prepare for marshy conditions and bring insect repellent, snack, water, and sunscreen. Returning at noon.
