Welcome to the Albuquerque Chapter
The Albuquerque chapter of the Native Plant Society welcomes everyone interested in the wildflowers, trees, and other plants that evolved here in New Mexico -- they make our environment unique. Hiking, gardening, photography, botany, ecology, and indigenous uses- we have an interest in all aspects.
Our monthly educational meetings are at the UNM Continuing Education building, 1634 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, just north of Indian School, south of I-40. We meet at 7:00 p.m. (but come earlier to get your seat, socialize, and browse the bookstore table) usually on the first Wednesday of the month.* Free and open to the public, with ample parking in front and behind the Continuing Education building.
*Exceptions are August, when we take a break, and December when we have a potluck lunch and members meeting on a Saturday.
Your requests, suggestions and questions about meetings or speakers are welcome any time of year. Contact our program coordinator, Tom Stewart, ABQ "at" npsnm "dot" org. Perhaps you would like to present something of interest!
Field Trips: we offer a wide variety from mid-spring through early fall. Locations range from within city limits to an hour or greater driving distance, easy to moderate walking. Dress sensibly, bring water, and consider your physical condition if the trip is high elevation or long. Do you have a favorite place with interesting plants? Please propose a field trip or offer to lead one. Contact Lee Regan: lnbregan2 "at" gmail "dot" org.
Nonmembers can visit our public Facebook Page and keep up to date on our activities and fun facts about plants. By joining NPSNM, you can participate in our members-only Facebook group.

An Education Grants Fund in Memory of George Miller
The Albuquerque Chapter of the Native Plant Society of New Mexico has established the awarding of education grants as a memorial to our late friend, colleague and past president, George Oxford Miller (1943 - 2024). This fund will help support individuals who lead or participate in an educational project related to Southwest ecosystems, New Mexico wildflowers, or native plant gardening - interests which reflect the life work of George Miller as an author, photographer, and website developer.
The purpose of this program is to provide encouragement and support to persons (students, teachers, and others) with an interest in New Mexico's natural environment for conducting or participating in further experiences and studies, with a primary aim of increasing community awareness or educating others about ecology-related topics.
