Please join the Santa Fe Chapter of the Native Plant Society for a field trip to see the beautiful cactus gardens in Eldorado.
You may drive yourself but if you wish to carpool I will meet the group at 9:30 AM at the K-Mart parking lot 1712 St. Michael’s Drive. Park near the St. Michael’s Drive entrance, just look for my red F-150 truck.
Our guide for the morning will be Joseph (Joe) Newman who has assisted the Cactus Rescue Project for years. We will start our tour at the cactus garden at Eldorado Community Improvement Association 1 Hacienda Loop at 10:00 AM. If you are driving yourself please meet us there.
Then we will drive past the Vista Grande median and the LaTienda entrance to see the LaTienda center installation by Santa Fe Brewing, and then a final stop at Nancy and Obie’s place.
Nancy and Obie will be hosting their annual “Open Garden” tour on Saturday, June 2, from 9:30 to 2:30 PM. Their yard will be blooming and they well also be selling cactus, 1/3 of the proceeds will support the Cactus Rescue Project.
Their address is 4 Duende Road in Eldorado.
Please RSVP by email if you are planning to meet us there or will be joining the carpool.
My plan is to eat lunch in Eldorado and be back by 1:30 PM.
