The program will feature a talk by Melanie Gisler, Director of the Southwest Office of the Institute for Applied Ecology (IAE), on “State-wide Conservation Initiatives for New Mexico’s Native Plants.” IAE opened an office in Santa Fe in 2015 and has since initiated several new programs for native plants of New Mexico. This presentation will provide an overview these conservation initiatives, including the Institute’s Gila-based work, and invite feedback on a vision for future native plant projects in New Mexico.
Meetings are third Fridays from September to May at 7 PM in Harlan Hall (Rm. 219) at WNMU, on the corner of 12th and Broadway. Free and open to the public, with refreshments following the program. For more information please visit our website, gilanps.org/events.
