Wooing Native Bees

The Santa Fe Chapter of the Native Plant Society of New Mexico presents a free talk at Christ Lutheran Church on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 6:30 pm by Dr. Olivia Carril entitled, “Wooing Native Bees.” 

Olivia Carril has been studying bees for two decades.  She received a BS and MS in Biology from Utah State University, where she studied the bee fauna of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in southern Utah.  She holds a PhD in Plant Biology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale where she studied a specialist bee, Diadasia, and its floral hosts.  Most recently, she coauthored the book “The Bees in Your Backyard: A Guide to North America’s Bees.”

The meeting will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 1701 Arroyo Chamiso, located in the triangle of Old Pecos Trail, St Michael’s Drive and Arroyo Chamiso.
