October 2-5, 2025
The Las Cruces Chapter welcomes you to the Borderlands. Enjoy the rugged beauty and cultural diversity of Southern New Mexico. While you are here, you will enjoy discussions of Chihuahuan Desert ecology and the culture and philosophy of the region.
The conference will begin with a meet-and-greet at Hacienda de Mesilla in the historic town of Old Mesilla on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm. Friday is our activity day with field trips, a garden tour, and workshops, followed by a reception from 5-7 pm at the University Art Museum on the NMSU campus. Saturday will feature a full day of presentations, a poetry reading, student posters, book sales, vendor displays and a silent auction on the NMSU campus. We’ll then get together for an optional banquet under the stars at D.H. Lescombes Winery & Bistro. On Sunday, you can spend some time in Las Cruces checking out some of the Self-guided Local Activities or you can enjoy some of the Enroute Optional Self-guided Activities listed below.
