Scheduled Events for 2015

Meetings and programs are on the 2nd Wednesday of the month (unless otherwise noted) at 7 PM, in the Conference Room of the Social Center at the University Terrace Good Samaritan Village, 3011 Buena Vida Circle, Las Cruces (on the right, while traveling east on Buena Vida from Telshor). Field trips are always on a Saturday. Most field trips extend into the afternoon. Participants must sign a release of liability form. Children must be accompanied by their parents. Programs and field trips are free, and non-members are always welcome. Contact Carolyn Gressitt at 523-8413.

September 9, 7 p.m.

Meeting: Ted Hodoba will speak on “Restoration of Wildlife Habitat at the Whitfield Wildlife Conservation Area” in Belen.

September 12, 8 a.m. 

Field trip: White Sands Missile Range with Dave Anderson—San Augustin Mts, Pat Garrett homestead, etc. [Field trip list full as of mid-August]

October 10, 1 p.m.

Potluck lunch—bring a dish and join us for an afternoon at La Cueva (Dripping Springs Natural Area). Sign up for potluck at our Oct.14thmeeting.

October 14, 7 p.m.

Meeting: Dr. Patrick Alexander, botanist, will present on area lizards and snakes.

October 17, 8 a.m.

Field trip: John & Carolyn will lead us to Barr/Soledad Canyon, in the Organ Mountains. Meet at First National Rio Grande, on corner of Telshor and University.

Celebrate Sevilleta with Amigos de la Sevilleta: We have been invited to table there in order to promote 2016 State NPS meeting next year!! Sign up to go; details on the Amigos website.
