2026 NPSNM State Conference

Roots of Resilience:

Native Plants in the Next Fifty Years

and Golden Jubilee Celebration

September 10-13 in Silver City

The Gila Chapter is gearing up for an exciting statewide conference to commemorate NPSNM's golden jubilee. Our friendly town is nestled amidst 3.3 million acres of stunning national forest, including three wilderness areas, making it an ideal starting point for hiking adventures and plant explorations. We're offering an extensive array of field trips to do just that.

The Town of Silver City was founded in 1870 following a silver boom. The charming downtown Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and features Victorian, Queen Anne, and Territorial-style brick buildings, as well as a vibrant arts scene.
