Leader: George Miller. We will attempt to find fields and hills covered
with Mexican poppies for this early spring trip to the southern mountains of
NM. We’ll also search for early blooming cacti and other ephemeral
wildflowers and shrubs unique to the area. Some hiking on park trails but
mostly drive and explore around scenic stops. We’ll meet at Rockhound State
Park Saturday morning, March 21 at 9 am and drive along east of the Little
Florida mountains, and other locations that may have flowers. Consider this
an exploratory trip where we’ll see what nature has to offer. George plans
to camp out, but Deming with motels is close by. We’ll return Sunday, March
22, or at your leisure. Carpooling will be personally arranged. Registration
