The October meeting of the Santa Fe chapter is called “To Bee or Not To Bee: The status of North America’s best pollinators,” presented by Olivia Messinger Carril.

While we know that native bees are essential to seed set in the vast majority of our flowering plants, our understanding of their population dynamics and current health is less well-known. Olivia Carril will discuss our current understanding of the state of North America’s bee species, pulling from research that has been conducted across the U.S. and Canada in the last 20 years as well as her own ongoing studies.

Monthly meetings are held third Wednesdays at 6:30 PM at Christ Lutheran Church—1701 Arroyo Chamiso, located in the triangle of Old Pecos Trail, St Michael’s Drive and Arroyo Chamiso, and directly across the street from Fire Station #4.
