Meet at 9:00 AM. at Pam’s house [5409 9th St. NW] for a tour of her native garden; this will be followed by a walk through the neighborhood to the Griegos Lateral acequia, with its “Big Cottonwood,” and beyond to meet up with Rio Grande Blvd.
We will talk about the history of acequias, how old this acequia is, and about what commonly grows along acequias (before mowing by the Middle Rio Grande Ditch Association).
Return to Pam’s house for cold drinks under her ramada and finish by noon or so.
