Saturday, March 25th at 8:30 a.m. – Quebradas Backcountry Byway with Kent Condie

Join us for this moderate hike near Socorro. We’ll be going 3-4 miles round trip, mostly in arroyos, looking for early blooming wildflowers and discussing the geology.

​​​Bring raingear, sunscreen and lunch.  Meet at 8:30-8:45 AM for prompt departure at 9 AM. Learn the meeting location by contacting Kent Condie, kentcondie1@gmail.com, or (505) 359-8120​.

You might want to make a pre-hike restroom stop at the rest area along I-25 (a few miles north of Lemitar).

We will reconvene at the Escondida Lake overlook along Pueblitos Road at 10:15-10:30 AM.

Please be aware that all field trip participants must sign the NPSNM liability release form before departure.  If you do this once, as follows, it is good for all trips this year. ​​

Print, sign, and photograph the form including signature ahead of time. Send the photo to the leader or turn it in at the meeting site.

For those who have not yet signed the release, leaders will also have forms available to sign before heading out.
