The September monthly meeting of the Taos chapter will be on Medicinal Plants of Taos, presented by Morgaine Witriol, founder of and instructor for Native Roots, an ancestral folk and indigenous medicine school in Taos. She will speak on native herbs for all the major organs and energetics for the emotional and spiritual body.
In her 20s, Morgaine apprenticed with a Mayan medicine man in Belize, Don Heriberto Cocom, whose expertise was using herbal medicines to heal people. After that apprenticeship, Morgaine studied two years to become a clinical herbalist then spent another 11 years engaged with informal traditional teachings from several elders.
Meetings are held 6-7:30 PM on 3rd Wednesdays in the Kit Carson Electric Cooperative boardroom, 118 Cruz Alta Rd. All meetings are free and open to the public. Please join us and bring your friends! Feel free to contact us at TaosNPS@gmail.com with any questions.
