The Green Planet

The Green Planet . . .

...was a fabulously produced series by Sir David Attenborough this past summer, revealing the amazing ways of plants . Unfortunately, it is no longer available for all, but if you have donated to PBS you can still experience all five episodes through their Passport streaming service at any time you choose.

But here is an amazing sample segment about dodder (Cuscuta), a voracious parasite of other plants, still available for anyone to enjoy. Try watching from your own computer:

If you are able to see any of the episodes in full, or have a friend with PBS Passport, we suggest that you at least go for the final episode, Human Worlds, a look at our relationship with plants, both native and domesticated, with momentous implications for our future.
